NeedALawyer.co.uk is in development. We're signing up founding firms now, before listings, fees or reviews are finalised — so the firms who join early get a say in all three.
Enquiries go to you
The person picks your firm and contacts you. We don't resell the enquiry to three competitors, and we don't run a claims panel.
Checked, so it means something
Every firm is matched to its regulator's register before it appears. A badge nobody verifies is worth nothing to the public.
Fees shown as you set them
Fixed fee, hourly rate or a range — your words, not a made-up price band. You can say "quote on request".
Where it's up to
The public side of the site is live: plain-English guides for 11 areas of law, and links to the official registers. The directory itself — profiles, search, reviews and contact — is being built.
Nothing is for sale yet. No pricing has been set, and no listing has been promised a position. When there is something concrete, the firms on this list hear first and can walk away.
What we'll ask you for later
- Your regulator and registration number, so we can verify the firm.
- The areas of law you actually want enquiries in, and the areas you cover.
- How you want to be contacted, and how quickly you aim to reply.
- Your fee approach for common work — as much or as little detail as you're comfortable publishing.
What we won't do
- Sell one person's enquiry to several firms.
- Publish reviews from anyone who didn't contact you through the site.
- Let a firm pay to delete a review — replies, yes; deletions, no.
- Hide paid placement. If a listing is ever promoted, it will say so on the listing.
