Your details, kept simple.
This covers the two forms on needalawyer.co.uk — the mailing list and the firm registration. We'll update it before the directory itself opens.
What we collect
If you join the mailing list: your name, email address, and optionally the area of law and the town or postcode you chose. If you register a firm: the firm name, your name, email, location, regulator and registration number, the areas you picked and anything you write in the message box.
For both, we also keep a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser's user-agent string, to stop the forms being abused.
What we don't want
Please don't send us the details of your legal problem. We can't advise you, and we'd rather not hold it. Anything sensitive that arrives anyway is deleted.
What we use it for
Only to contact you about NeedALawyer.co.uk. We don't sell or share your details with law firms, claims companies or anyone else.
Where it's kept
On our own server in the UK. Form submissions are also emailed to our inbox using Postmark, our email delivery provider. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, and the site is served through Bunny's CDN.
How long
Until the directory opens and you've heard from us, or sooner if you ask us to delete it.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you at any time. Email hello@needalawyer.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
This site doesn't set cookies, and there's no analytics or advertising tracking on it.
